Arrival Check-in

It is VERY IMPORTANT that Summer Work Travel participants report their arrival confirmation within 5 days of their arrival in order to validate their program in SEVIS.

SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) is an Internet-based system that provides tracking and monitoring, with access to accurate and current information, on nonimmigrant students, exchange visitors and their dependents.

IMPORTANT: Please make sure to do your arrival check-in before applying for a Social Security Number. Expect to wait up to 3 days before applying for a Social Security Number, while your information is processed by SEVIS. We will notify you by email.

When registering with SEVIS when report your arrival confirmation, you need to provide the following information:

Your DS-2019 number
The address where you are living in the U.S.
The address where you are working in the U.S.
Your supervisor's information.
Your email address.

IMPORTANT: if you do not register with SEVIS within 5 days after your arrival to the U.S., your program may be terminated.

You should also do a monthly check-in with this web site at the beginning of each month of your program. If you change your address, you have 10 days to update SEVIS with this information through your monthly check-in with this web site.
