How the Summer Work Travel Program Works

To become Work and Travel Employer is easy by following these simple steps:

The first step to participate in the Simmer Work Travel is to complete the USUF Employer and Job Profile. As you prepare this information, we are glad to answer any questions or provide any information to you that may be helpful. The process of exchanging information is one of the most important ways we can ensure that your expectations of you and the expectations of the participating students are clearly established. This information is used throughout the recruiting, screening, and orientation process, as well as during the support process when participants are working at your company.

The second step is to evaluate if the program is suitable for filling your staffing requirements and if your company, in turn, meets the program requirements. We may visit the company in advance of the participants' arrival in order to ensure our understanding of your expectations is complete, to answer questions you may have, and to consult with you in order to select the best qualified participants.

As a part of the third step, you agree to take part in the Summer Work and Travel Program by completing the Employment Agreement Form with your future employees. After USUF confirmation of this agreement, students are ready to start their travel arrangements, visa appointments etc. After attending home-country orientation, where they receive all the necessary information about their living and working in the United States, students depart for the U.S.
